The major shortcoming of all these Free List Building programs is that you need a constant flow of PEOPLE to promote to in order to get people on your list - it's like "water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink!"

But aren't there millions of people on the Internet with contact email addresses and profiles just hoping to get on your lists or join your down lines?

Well, not exactly regardless what the gurus might want you to believe. Sure, they are everywhere except NOT ON YOUR LIST!!.

To get them on your own list you will need easy access to them first, then get their attention with whatever you have to offer and in so doing get them to join your list.

One of the most effective ways to do this is to start writing, Become an expert by posting your articles all over the 'Net - ezines, blogs, forums, article sites, etc.

Once people start to respect the information you offer, then it's time to start placing them on your subscription lists with RSS feeds or newsletters to build a list.

Placing your Text ads or links to your Affiliate or MLM programs relating to your area of expertise will start making your money eventually if you have a good size list.

This, of course, will take time and a lot of effort.. But it can be done.

There are many sites offering paid leads or visits to your site including search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN and a host of other smaller outfits. Paid Leads, sign-ups or visits can prove costly and most offen a waste of your money.

If you are knowledgeable of SEO tactics and how to optimized your web pages (if you have a website), search engine traffic - PPC or generic traffic is your best bet. But it is a deep learning curve.

(3) SOCIAL NETWORKING

These sites offer the largest body of ready contacts available on the 'Net. Turning these contacts into leads for your list is a whole different matter. They were not structured for promoting your business on any large scale. To convert these leads into lists, you need a to build that primary friendship base first (the easy part) then promoting to them to join your business list outside the community (the hard part).
